Kevin Welch Re-Elected to Mutual Bank Board of Directors

WHITMAN, MA, ISSUED JUNE 5, 2009 - Dr. Kevin Welch, who owns and operates a dental practice in East Bridgewater, has been re-elected to the Board of Directors for Mutual Bank, a community bank with nine branches throughout Southeastern Massachusetts and on Cape Cod.

In this role, Dr. Welch, who has been a board member since 1999, will help guide the policy and direction for the independent, mutually-owned bank.

Dr. Welch grew up in Whitman, where his father was a physician. Following graduation from Thayer Academy, he earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Vermont, including a Master's Degree in biochemistry. His early work in the field of medicine included the Worcester Foundation for Experimental Biology. He earned his DMD from Tufts University through a public health scholarship. Following graduation, he worked in the public service sector for six years, providing dentistry at the Dorchester House Multi Service Center.

In 1986 he purchased an existing dental practice in East Bridgewater. He has practiced at that same location, 567 North Bedford Street, Route 18, since that time. Dr. Welch is a member of the Massachusetts Dental Society and the American Dental Association, and OKU, which is a Dental Honor Society. He resides in Hanson with his wife Kathleen and three sons, Kevin, Korey and Colin. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, skiing and tennis.
