MUTUAL BANK FIGHTS BACK WITH INNOVATIVE PRODUCTS
Whitman, MA – Sept. 17, 2010
While most banks hunker down to wait out the current economic storm, Mutual Bank is fighting back by offering new and innovative products that not only help customers cope with tough times, but also put a smile on their faces.
For example, Reward Checking gives customers a free checking account that not only pays very high interest - over 3% - on checking balances, but also makes it easy to build savings in a related RealSaver savings account. In addition, there is no minimum balance requirement, no monthly fees, and no ATM fees. The account comes with a free Mutual Bank Debit Card, and free eStatement service.
" We know lots of people are having difficulty right now, so we thought there would be no better time to launch these exciting new products, go the extra mile for our customers, and offer a little more than other banks. Our new Reward Checking account lets customers earn extra high interest, while helping them to get back to building savings at the same time," said Glen White, Mutual Bank Chairman and CEO.
In addition to Reward Checking, the bank plans to soon launch another checking product that gives customers free iTunes® downloads when they open their account, and every month they qualify thereafter. Customers can download music, or anything else they like, from the iTunes® online store.
" Many people, young and old, use iTunes® on a regular basis, and we think this account - called RealTunes - will appeal to them enormously. Of course, like Reward Checking, RealTunes requires no minimum balance, has no monthly fees or ATM fees, and comes with a free Mutual Bank Debit Card, and free eStatement service," White continued.
Reward Checking is available now, and RealTunes will be available soon, at any Mutual Bank office, or through the Internet, at www.MyMutualBank.com
Mutual Bank is a $366 million community bank serving consumer and business customers through nine branch offices in southeastern Massachusetts, and through the Internet at www.MyMutualBank.com.
