Mutual Bank staff members to participate in American Cancer Society Relay for Life

WHITMAN, MIDDLEBORO, MA, ISSUED May 9, 2011

Staff members of Mutual Bank, a full-service bank with nine branches throughout Southeastern Massachusetts and on Cape Cod will again participate in the Bridgewater, Lakeville & Middleboro Relay for Life in the hopes of raising $10,000 for research and programs facilitated by the American Cancer Society.

An estimated 40 Mutual Bank employees will take part in the fundraising event, slated June 17-18 at the Bridgewater-Raynham Regional High School.

Last year, the Mutual Bank Relay team raised nearly $7,000 toward the cause and this year the goal has been set at $10,000 according to Assistant Treasurer and Middleboro Branch Manager Thomas Pratt.

"Not only does the Relay provide a chance for individuals to remember and honor those who have lost their battle with cancer, but it also serves to support and encourage people who are currently facing the disease," said Pratt, who organized the Mutual Bank team. "In addition, the Relay offers a chance for Mutual Bank employees to come together, working in unison to recognize the struggles of many and to go the distance for a common goal."
