Mutual Bank completes Whitman Branch renovations; plans community events that culminate in “Community Shred Day”

WHITMAN, MA, ISSUED MAY 28, 2008…Mutual Bank is still putting the “finishing touches” on the renovations to their Whitman Center location, but they are open for business and will be showcasing their new look during their “Grand Opening Celebration” week June 7-14.

The makeover of the first floor completes the renovation work to the flagship building. This last phase comes on the heels of new, more driver friendly exterior signage for the building and the installation of protective awnings to help pedestrians during inclement weather. The renovations  feature enhanced office space providing additional privacy for customers transacting business, an i-bank for online banking and bill payment in the branch, and a more spacious, comfortable waiting area.

Whitman resident Gary Tavitian was the first customer to walk in the doors of the newly renovated Mutual Bank at 570 Washington Street in Whitman Center. He was greeted with a warm welcome and a surprise “First Customer” gift of a bright red portable sports chair in a matching carry case. Tavitan congratulated branch manager Eileen Casey and the rest of the staff on their attractive new home, saying that he was looking forward to using the chair while watching his grandson’s baseball games.

The bank will offer daily prizes starting June 7, and the Grand Opening culminates with a “Community Shred Day” Saturday, June 14, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. That day, the bank will have a mobile, secure, on-site shredder and will provide the opportunity for Whitman residents to bring paperwork to the site that they would like to have securely destroyed.

“We are pleased that our improvements are nearly complete,” said Glen S. White, CEO of Mutual Bank, who added, “We invite everyone to come by and see our new look. We are confident that the community will like the new look.”
