Bruce Duphily named Assistant VP/Lending Officer at Mutual Bank at Middleborough branch

MIDDLEBOROUGH, MA, ISSUED JULY 11, 2007…For lifelong Middleborough resident Bruce Duphily, the recent opening of the Mutual Bank Middleborough branch is truly a homecoming.

Bruce Duphily has been named Assistant Vice President and Lending Officer of Mutual Bank for the southeastern Massachusetts region, and will work from the bank’s new Middleborough full-service branch, which opened earlier this month at 438 West Grove Street.

Duphily, whose banking industry experience spans nearly 25 years, served as Assistant Vice President, Branch Manager and Loan Officer with Security Federal Savings Bank, prior to that bank's merger with Mutual Bank last year. He began his duties in Mutual Bank's Falmouth branch and when Middleborough opened, relocated his primary office to the new branch. He will continue to oversee lending for the Falmouth area, and will maintain his office at the Falmouth branch as well.

“It is great to be back working in my hometown, where I can help friends and neighbors with their banking needs,” said Duphily.

In addition to growing up in Middleborough and graduating from Middleborough High School, it was also his hometown where he got his start in the banking industry. In the early 1980s he served as a loan officer at what was then Middleborough Trust Company.

A graduate of the Massachusetts Bankers’ School for Financial Studies, Duphily also studied business at the University of MassachusettsDartmouth. Additionally, he has studied banking and financial issues at the Mass Bankers’ Association and at the School of Commercial Lending through Mass Bankers; he also studied financial analysis at the New England College of Finance. Duphily resides in his hometown of Middleborough with his wife Rosemary and their four children: Amy, Haley, Alyssa and Daniel. All of his children attend the Middleborough schools.

“Bruce’s experience within the banking industry and his lending expertise will be important to our future growth,” said William J. Morse, President of Mutual Bank and head of Lending. “We know that his Middleborough roots will be of great assistance to us as we build and develop this newest branch of our business.”
