WHITMAN AND MASHPEE, MA, ISSUED APRIL 16, 2007… Samuel A. Read, Jr. of Mashpee was recently reappointed to a three-year term on the Board of Directors at Mutual Bank, a community bank with 8 branches throughout Southeastern Massachusetts and Cape Cod.
In this role, he will help guide the policy and direction for the mutually-owned bank.
Read, who lived in West Bridgewater before moving to Mashpee seven years ago, was first elected to the Board of Directors of Security Federal Savings Bank in 1978. After serving 28 years as a director of that Brockton-based mutual institution, he helped oversee the transition when Security Federal merged with Mutual Bank in November, 2006.
A retired manager with Eastern Utilities, he is a graduate of Wentworth Institute and was a member of the National Guard.
Read is a former member of the Rotary Club and a past president of the Brockton Kiwanis.
